One of the many projects that Container Domes Australia has worked on in 2020 is the Cross River Rail project, which is currently under construction in Brisbane, Queensland.
Cross River Rail is a new 10.2km rail line that includes 5.9kms of twin underground tunnels under the Brisbane River and CBD. Cross River Rail will unlock a bottleneck that occurs due to only having a single river crossing, limiting the ability to run more trains. The Cross River Rail is a $5.4 billion project that began construction in latte 2019. Container Domes Australia is supplying the project with five different container domes for a variety of uses, with three having already been constructed.
The domes come in a range of different widths and lengths, with the biggest being the 20m x 24 m with a 4m apex on top of double stack containers. Container Domes Australia has a twistlock bracket mount system that allows for a completely weld-free installation that allow for easy installation with the possibility for moving to structure to other locations as the project continues.
Pictured below are the two 24m container sheds the Cross River Rail project is using; the 20m by 24m and the 15m by 24m. Both container domes have front and rear walls with roller doors that enable them to be used for a variety of different needs such as a double stacked workshop with a 5 Tonne Gantry Crane mounted onto the containers, to smaller workstations and storage areas.
