The Scope of Works
In partnership with Aus Ship Group, Rivergate Marina & Shipyard engaged Container Domes Australia to design and install a high-clearance container dome solution to serve as a permanent luxury vessel construction facility at their Murarrie site. The structure needed to support high-value marine manufacturing operations while integrating into the site’s existing hard stand.
The Challenges
The shelter required precise spatial planning to ensure ample working room for the Aus Ship team while fitting within the constraints of the existing footprint. To facilitate the construction and removal of large vessels, the design incorporated wide side access, machinery clearance, and a removable front end wall.
The SOLUTION
The container layout was designed with a 6m gap between the 40ft length, allowing seamless movement of machinery and components.
The 25m wide x 30m long dome was mounted on the outside edges of double-stacked 40ft containers to provide the vertical clearance required for large-scale vessel construction. A full rear end wall provided enclosure, while the front half wall included removable panels to allow vessel exit upon completion. The solution was delivered on time, to specification, and with minimal disruption to ongoing operations.
